History of Sai Mandir

I introduce myself as K. Ananda Rao, a resident of Vijayapuri South Colony of Nagarjunasagar, Guntur district. I wish to bring to your kind notice that in the year 1989, Sri Saibaba appeared in my dream and commanded to construct a temple for him in Nagarjunasagar dam area. In obedience to the same, I being a Government employee, at that point of time, approached the then Chief Secretary to Government and requested to allot some land for construction of Saibaba Temple in Nagarjuna Sagar. With the blessings to Sri Paramahamsa, the then Managing Director, A.P. State Finance Corporation, Hyderabad, Government allotted land for construction of the temple on Market Value fixed by the Governament. The Bhoomi Pooja performed on April, 1992. The temple was constructed and inaugurated on 13-6-1994 under the aegis of philanthropist Sri N.V. Chowdary, Chairman & Managing Director, NATCO Group of Companies and it was named as 'SAI PREMA MANDIR'.

Saibaba idol brought from Rajasthan was installed. Since then, the temple is being maintained by myself (K.Ananda Rao, Convenor). Being a Government employee, i found it is difficult to sail in two boats and he resigned for my job in 1994 and devoted my entire time for the welfare of the temple.

With an intention to devote my entire time to perform Saibaba Seva, I had taken voluntary retirement in the year 1994. Since then with the meagre income derived from pension, I have been maintaining the temple and performing "Visesha Poojas" on festival days and also every Thursday Annadanam (poor feeding of food) is performed. Apart from that helping the poor people for continue their education and Vastra danam to poor people are also being made
